BML Munjal University Engages Hyderabad on Engineering Education for the Jobs of Tomorrow

Hyderabad, 16 April 2025 – BML Munjal University (BMU), a Hero Group initiative, conducted two focussed events in Hyderabad today. The morning saw an engaging session with school principals on ‘Preparing Students for Jobs That Don’t Exist Yet’ while the evening featured a ‘Meet the Dean’ interaction with students and parents to discuss admissions, scholarships, and career outcomes after B.Tech.

The event featured an engaging session with Dr. Maneek Kumar, Dean – School of Engineering & Technology at BMU, who interacted with a select group of school principals on the theme: “Preparing Students for Jobs That Don’t Exist Yet.” The discussion explored how emerging technologies—such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotics, and green tech, are reshaping the job market, and emphasized the urgent need for education systems to evolve accordingly.

With nearly 40% of BMU’s student body hailing from South India, and a significant share of engineering students coming from Telangana, the university continues to witness strong interest from the region, particularly in degree programs like BTech (engineering), BBA LLB, and BA LLB (law). BMU’s emphasis on interdisciplinary learning, industry exposure, and innovation strongly aligns with Telangana’s forward-looking skilling ecosystem, reinforced by initiatives such as its collaboration with the National Institute for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (Ni-msme), Hyderabad. BMU and Ni-msme have a faculty exchange programme where BMU faculty contribute to upskilling MSME workers across India. Additionally, the university works closely with T-Hub (Telangana’s startup incubator) and T-Works (India’s largest prototyping centre) to strengthen innovation, incubation, and prototyping capabilities among students and early-stage entrepreneurs.

Hyderabad holds strategic importance, not only as a vibrant technology and startup hub but also as home to a growing community of BMU alumni contributing to leading organizations and entrepreneurial ventures.

Dr. Maneek Kumar shared, “Hyderabad continues to be a vibrant hub for tech talent and academic excellence. This event allowed us to connect meaningfully with students and educators who are shaping the next generation of changemakers.”

Dr. Kumar also addressed students and parents, offering insights into BMU’s admission process, merit-based scholarships, and the university’s strong focus on career outcomes through experiential learning and industry collaborations. The event concluded with interactive sessions between university representatives and attendees, leaving participants with valuable perspectives on building future-ready careers.
