K. Rohini Rao is a proud Hyderabadi, born and raised in Hyderabad. She works as a software professional in her primary career while running CatchThe Hyd Events as her passionate secondary hustle, with the hope that it will grow into something significant in the coming years.

The idea for Catch The Hyd Events first came to her in 2019. She had planned to launch it in 2020, but the COVID-19 pandemic forced her to put the project on hold.

As someone who loves dancing and frequently visits clubs, Rohini often found herself frustrated while searching for events. She specifically wanted venues playing Bollywood or Hollywood music, which meant spending hours manually checking the Instagram pages of multiple clubs to see who was performing that night.

This personal pain point sparked the concept: why not create a single, centralized page where all such information could be found? In May 2023, she finally launched Catch The Hyd Events, starting from zero followers.

Initially focused on nightlife and weekend club events, the page gradually evolved as Hyderabad's event scene changed. Daytime workshops, entrepreneurial sessions, and other activities began gaining popularity on weekends. Rohini adapted by collaborating with workshop organizers and entrepreneurs, expanding the page to cover a broader range of happenings.

As a true local ("pakka Hyderabadi"), she chose the name Catch The Hyd Events to reflect its purpose — helping people discover that Hyderabad offers vibrant workshops, events, nightlife, and more, all in one convenient destination.

Rohini has built the page organically, growing only genuine followers without ever resorting to paid or fake ones. She handles every aspect of the platform herself: capturing content, shooting videos, editing reels and videos, designing posters, creating the logo, and promoting events. Despite her full-time job, she dedicates 1–2 hours daily from her personal schedule to keep CatchThe Hyd Events active and engaging.
