Teaming up with Ankit Bhati, Aggarwal initially launched Olatrip.com, a trip-planning service, before pivoting to Ola Cabs in January 2011 to address the growing demand for on-demand taxi services.Ola’s early model was simple yet innovative: rather than owning a fleet of vehicles, it partnered with independent taxi drivers and owners, connecting them to customers through a call center and, later, a mobile app. This aggregator approach disrupted the traditional cab industry in India, offering convenience, transparency, and accessibility to millions.
